What is Print on Demand (POD)?

Print on demand (POD) is a business model and technology that allows individuals and businesses, just like you, to create and sell custom-designed products, primarily physical items like apparel, bottles, bags, towels, and more, without the need for maintaining a physical inventory. Instead of producing products in bulk and storing them in a warehouse, POD relies on digital printing and manufacturing methods to produce items only when an order is placed.

Here's how our print on demand works:

  1. Product Creation: You’ll first create your chosen products from our catalogue and add your own graphics/logos/text, including any areas of personalisation that you would like your customer to have, for example a name or message. These products will then be available on your own store generated by uDesignMe, all within minutes!
  2. Digital Printing: When your customer places an order for a specific product(s), our fulfiller platform will use your chosen region fulfiller (UK/EU/US) and will send the product(s) details and all of the artwork generated by uDesignMe, including any personalisation from your customer directly to the production facility.
  3. Quality Control: We have quality control measures in place to ensure that your customers order meets our high standards before it's shipped.
  4. Shipping: Once the product is ready and passed QA, it is shipped out under the shipping method you or your customer has chosen.
  5. Messaging: Throughout the entire process, you have access to your order and you can track your order through our facilities, all the way through to shipping.

Eco-friendly print process

  • When possible we use eco-friendly ink and recycle all waste ink and chemicals to reduce pollution.
  • We ship your products using a range of recycled, biodegradable polyethylene bags or compostable paper mailing bags.
  • All waste garments are donated to charity to be resold or recycled into other products, such as carpet underlay.

Reusable products

  • From water bottles to apparel, we print durable, reusable products to be used time and time again.

On-site

  • Our print facilities are fitted with water-efficient systems and timed LED lights to reduce waste.

Promo or shop

Within the uDesignMe platform you can create an event store, either as a Promo or Shop. If you select a Promo event (UK/EU region only), you will set your store up to allow your customer group, maybe employees or partners or even attendees to an event you are running the opportunity to order a free branded product, which of course can be personalised with their own name or message. You can assign your event a budget, so that you can control your spend and you can even have your event automatically close and end on a given date, handy if you only want your store up for a few days!

You select the products from our range, drop your logo on and create any areas of personalised messaging or names. The store is generated automatically and you can go live with your unique URL!

If however, you want to create a store, with a payment gateway that your customers will use with their credit card, you can do that too. All you need to do is select the products from our range that you would like to offer your customers, configure them with your artwork/logos/text and personalised message areas (if you want) and your store is generated. The great thing about the store, is that you just earn your markup on your chosen products when one of your customers makes a purchase.
